How They Work

Horizontal balers are heavy-duty recycling machines equipped to handle the challenges of heightened production demands and high-volume recycling. They can be manually or automatically operated. Typically fed by a conveyor system or tote tipper, horizontal balers compact a variety of material for efficient transport. Horizontal units can bale a wide variety of material including cardboard, paper, newspaper, printer trim, film, plastic parts and more. Horizontal balers are capable of producing high-density bales of 2000+ pounds and effectively manage waste streams of 50-5,000 tons or more per month. Tom leads the Equipment Division for Quincy Recycle. He prides himself on making sure customers receive the right equipment to efficiently and effectively manage their waste stream. Tom has an extensive history here at Quincy Recycle, previously working as an Operations Manager at the New Haven plant location and the General Manager of an On-site Information Destruction division. When not at work, Tom enjoys spending time in the great outdoors with his wife and kids, hunting, kayaking, or riding his Harley.

Benefits of Auto-Tie Horizontal Balers

Manual labor in the recycling process can be greatly reduced through the use of an Auto-tie horizontal baler system. As you load material into an auto-tie baler, it will operate automatically, compressing waste into manageable bales of similar density and weight. After compression, an automatic baling wire system ties the bale together. The compressed bales can then be stacked until transport, saving space normally occupied by waste bins.
