Spend more than an hour with Stephen Jones and you are going to be tired. Not because he’s draining – quite the opposite. It’s because you feel compelled to keep up with his energy and enthusiasm. Stephen Jones, the Operations Manager at Quincy Farm Products, is one of the people you can point to and say “he loves what he does”, and it comes through in everything he does. From the interactions with his team to the customers, Stephen sets a positive tone and creates and energy that everyone is drawn to.

If you had to pick one, which Core Value is your favorite and why?

One Team One Dream One Family. The Quincy Recycle companies have done a great job of making the culture of family a big part of the business. I truly enjoy the people I work with everyday. We are all striving towards the same goals and celebrate the wins as a group!

What was the most challenging thing to learn in your roles?

Being okay with failure. We run a business that is ok with trying new things and new processes some work out and some do not. This type of innovation and creativity has allowed us to continue to grow and be successful.

What was the most surprising or fun thing to learn?

How impactful our business is to our vendors and customers. It is always fun to show new people around our plant and see how surprised they are with what we do and how we do it.

What’s your favorite part about working at Quincy Recycle?

The group of people I get to work with. We have a great time at work and enjoy each others company. I do not believe that is common in todays workplace and I am thankful to work in this type of atmosphere. We have a winning culture and it is contagious.

What would you like prospective employees to know about Quincy Recycle?

You will be treated like a person not a number. Your opinion matters and is valued and you will be critical to the success of the business no matter what plant you work at.

What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

I enjoy bow hunting whitetails in the fall and hunting turkeys in the spring. Also love spending time with my wife Jenna and our son Nolan.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever read or received?

Just because we have not done it before does not mean it is something we cannot do.

If you had to pick a song to portray the culture of Quincy Recycle, what would it be and why?

Don’t Blink by Kenny Chesney. Things change fast around here.
