Sales Coordinator

If you had to pick one, which Core Value is your favorite and why?

Be Courageous and Try It – I really enjoy working for a company that thinks this way and is one of the core values. It really helps spark the Entrepreneurial thought process and I like thinking outside the box and trying new things to see if there are ways we can improve what we’re doing to increase margin.

What was the most challenging thing to learn in your roles?

I had previously been in banking for about 10 years, so the entire recycling world was new to me and the most challenging thing to learn was all the commodities. Especially plastics! I’m still not 100% sure on all of the different blends and specifics today, but learning more every day.

What was the most surprising or fun thing to learn?

Everything was new and interesting to learn. From freight and trucking to the everyday processes of recycling and where the materials that I put in my recycling bin actually go or how they are reused.

What’s your favorite part about working at Quincy Recycle?

Our team in West Bend, WI was almost all new 4-5 years ago, so starting at the beginning and us all working together to build a profitable plant has been really fun. Work is also much more enjoyable when you have fun with the people you work with and we have a great team here in Wisconsin.

What would you like prospective employees to know about Quincy Recycle?

Quincy Recycle is a great company to work for in many different aspects. You can see the evidence of that from the length of time employees stay working here. Your input is valued and every day you can have a major effect on the company’s success. If you like figuring things out and trying something new…you’ll have fun here.

What are some of your hobbies outside of work?

I like to hunt and fish and I have 2 younger kids, so any activities outdoors with them is fun.

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever read or received?

Two things really stick out to me… 1. Write down your goals. Work goals, personal goals, financial, relational, anything that is important to you and keep those goals in front of you. Somewhere you would see them and review them daily. 2. Get out of your comfort zone. Try new things and gain new experiences. Your only failure is when you stop trying.
